Sacred Voyages Group Retreat
What is Not Included
Accommodations, transportation to the retreat and during the retreat, breakfast and anything not listed as what is included in the retreat on the Sacred Voyages website.
We typically hold the retreat in a comfortable facility, retreat center or private home or estate. You are responsible for your accommodations off site.
You are responsible for your own accommodations. To further the group experience, we do suggest, but do not require, that retreat participants stay at the recommended near-by hotel(s). We require participants to obtain single occupancy accommodations (unless traveling as a couple) so that they rest, integrate and sleep in their own energy field. Single occupancy also prevents the need to quarantine if a roommate were to become ill.
You are responsible to provide your own transportation to, from and on the retreat. You will need a vehicle to get to and from the Sacred Sites we venture out to.
Out of Communication
Plan to be out of communication with the modern world during the retreat. This means no cell phones, tablets, laptops, emails, texting, calling, internet surfing, video streaming, social media etc. This is a requirement that really helps to deepen our experience.
On a practical level, there are exceptions. For example, there are some people who have critical business or children to communicate with, or other contingencies. Please share if you have communication needs during the retreat on the “Retreat Participant Registration Form” (which will be provided to you once you give your deposit for the retreat).
Notwithstanding the above, please keep your cell phone on you at all times (off or in airplane mode) in case of emergency.
Participants must be in good mental health and not experiencing a mental health crisis to attend the retreat. If you are in active treatment for a mental health condition, you agree to speak to your mental health professional before coming on the retreat. The retreat leader is not a mental health professional and no activities on the retreat are providing mental health services.
Alcohol & Drugs
We require that you refrain from using recreational drugs & alcohol during the retreat. Please continue to take any prescriptions or over the counter drugs your doctor has prescribed or recommended, or that you feel you need to be safe and healthy. Please do not take any illegal substances.
What Not to Bring
- Synthetic cologne / perfume or strong-smelling essential oils-
- Clothing and other items with profanity or any kind of political statements
- Alcohol, tobacco & drugs (see policy above)
Respecting Various Viewpoints
Please refrain from discussing the following on the retreat as we have found these divisive issues to be counter productive to our intent for the retreat:
- Covid 19
Respecting Spiritual Teachings
On retreat, spiritual teachings based on many of the world’s wisdom traditions and modern spirituality will be shared. Some of these teachings may be familiar to you, some of them may be new to you. You may agree or disagree with any/all of them. By attending the retreat, you agree to display an attitude of tolerance and open-mindedness and not in any way interfere with the ability of other retreat participants to engage in the teachings.
While we do not typically go on long hikes or activities that are physically demanding, some Sacred Sites do require some hiking and physical exertion to reach and enjoy. If you have any physical limitations, remember to note them on your Retreat Registration Form and mention your concerns to the Retreat Manager upon arrival so we can share with you possible adaptations. There are almost always other options and adaptations if we know about your needs, concerns and limitations. Please never push your limits and always take responsibility for your safety.
While we will not be venturing to attitudes that most experts consider dangerous, Mount Shasta is a high alpine mountain. As such it is naturally hazardous and requires your attention and consciousness to safety. Please read up on your own about how to stay safe in the mountains and always do so.
Food Sensitivities and Allergies
We cannot guarantee our ability to meet your food sensitivity and allergy needs. If you have food sensitivities and we know in advance of your needs, our catering service will attempt to accommodate gluten-free, vegetarians and vegans. Please let us know at least 30 days in advance of any food requirements.
Weather and Other Conditions
All kinds of weather are possible. The retreat will happen and continue in whatever the weather conditions may be, including but not limited to rain, snow, fog, smoke or sunshine, hot or cold conditions. So please be prepared so you can be as comfortable as possible in any conditions. We do not provide refunds for natural or man-made disasters, weather, road closures or loss of utilities.
Early Arrival or Late Departure
Please do not arrive at the retreat facility early or plan to stay later than the retreat end time.
Late Arrival on First Day
On the first day, you can arrive any time after the start of the retreat. If you plan to arrive after 7pm, please contact the retreat leader in advance. You cannot arrive later than the first day. If you arrive later than the first day, you will not be admitted to the retreat and you will be considered a “no show.” Refunds are not given for no shows.
Early Departure from Retreat
You may choose to leave the retreat early for any reason at any time. However, if you leave by your own choice, for any reason, the full amount paid for the retreat is not refundable, and if you owe a balance, it is still due and payable in full.
On the day the retreat ends, you can leave early if you need to. Please contact the retreat leader prior to the start of the retreat to inform us of any planned early departure.

If you are ill with a fever or other contagious condition that is not COVID 19, you must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours prior to the start of the retreat in order to attend. If you owe a balance, it is still due and payable in full.
Early Departure from Retreat Due to Illness or Covid
If you become ill with a fever, contagious condition, or COVID 19 while on retreat, you will not be admitted back to the retreat facility or to group activities and outings. When possible, at the sole discretion of the retreat leader, you may attend the group meetings that are conducted at the retreat facility via zoom and go out to Sacred Sites suggested by the retreat leader (not the ones the group is visiting) on your own. Whether you can attend by zoom or not, under any of these circumstances, the full amount paid for the retreat is not refundable. If you owe a balance, it is still due and payable in full.
Right to Refuse Service
At the retreat leader’s sole discretion, we reserve the right to expel any individual from a retreat at any time for being rude, reckless, disruptive, unruly and/or uncooperative, or if you seem to be having a mental health event or crisis that is beyond the professional purview of the retreat facilitator to support. If you are asked to leave the retreat, the full amount paid for the retreat is not refundable, and if you owe a balance, it is still due and payable in full.
The initial payments, up to $1200, paid toward a group retreat are considered a non-refundable, non-cancelable, deposit. Any additional funds paid towards a group retreat are fully refundable up to 45 days prior to the start date of the retreat at which time they become non-refundable and the retreat becomes non-cancelable.
Please read the Liability Waiver prior to the retreat. You will be asked to sign a printed copy upon arrival. If you have questions or objections, it is imperative that you contact us prior to the retreat to discuss. Participants who have not signed the Liability Waiver will not be allowed to attend the retreat or be present at The Retreat House property.
If you have not paid in full already, please note that we will reach out to you by phone or email to collect the balance.
